I was introduced to Booty Camp Fitness by my good friend Amanda, who after her first class could hardly wait to get home to call me and tell me all about it. She felt that I should apply for a position with Booty Camp, as I would be perfect for the job. So I went on-line to the Booty Camp website and instantly knew it would fit my personality and lifestyle and so I applied for a position.
I am currently a Certified Personal Trainer with Can fit Pro and am certified with the Stability Ball, Flexibility Training, Client Assessment, Biomechanics, Metabolism and Client Relations as well as Business Management. I am also enrolled in January 2010 to become certified as an instructor. My first aid is up-to-date and I am certified in infant and toddler as well as heart saver.
I do not think Booty Camp Fitness is a great fit for me because of my training, but because of my passion and enthusiasm for health, nutrition and exercise. I used to be 50 pounds overweight, which started me on my journey to become fit and healthy. I have been training for 23 years and include a wide variety into my daily exercise routine. I love Yoga, the Bosu, stability ball training, plyometrics, step aerobics, boot camp workouts, strength training, the Urban Rebounder and the Chi Ball. I also enjoy kick boxing and both low and high impact aerobics. I also participate in a Body Attack class every Monday night.
My fitness success story would be training Dolores after she gave birth to her first child. She had 65 pounds to lose and was very depressed after her second child. I was able help her lose 60 pounds through diet and exercise and watch her transform into a happy, healthy, energetic mother. She has maintained her weight loss and continues to exercise 5 times a week.
I have three children under the age of 6 and have managed to stay fit and incorporate good nutrition, not only in my life, but my family's as well. I am a true advocate for proper health and nutrition. In this day and age we lead a far too sedentary life style due to the advancement of technology such as computers, video games, etc. Working mothers don't always have the time today to cook healthy and nutritious meals and as a result children as well ourselves are suffering. We need to set the example to protect our children from obesity and related diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease to name a few and not to mention lack of energy and concentration.
Exercise is not only an important part of my life to help me stay in shape, but affects all aspects of my life, from my energy level, happiness and mental health. I wake up at 5:30 am every morning to fit an exercise routine in before my family wakes up and my busy day starts. So the message I want to pass to my clients is that exercise is an important part of our lives to help balance everything and keeps us happy and energized. Women's fitness is so important to me because as busy mom's and busy career women sometimes we don't take the time for ourselves and if we take even the 30 minutes a day to do something for ourselves we can be better in other aspects of our lives. I truly believe exercise truly helps me get through my busy days with my three children and all the responsibilities that come with that and still have energy at the end of the day for my relationship with my husband. Therefore I want to become a Booty Camp Fitness instructor because not only do I want to pass this message on but also because I think it will be fun and that I have the ability to teach an energetic, informative and supportive class. This is my passion and sounds like a dream career. The hours work great for my family and I will be able to be present and not worrying about my children because they will be at home with their father and I will still be able to take them to school, pick them up and participate in their daily routine which is so important to me. I would also like to do this for me, to apply my passion and knowledge would be a dream come true for me. If I can help women become more healthy and fit, that in itself would be a big accomplishment. I have also done my research on Booty Camp Fitness and feel it would be an awesome place to work and am so excited to train and learn. I will definitely give 110% to everything I do and I look forward to becoming part of the Booty Camp team.
For fun I enjoy playing with my children, bike riding, going to the park, Wonderland and the Zoo. We also spend our summer weekends at the family cottage swimming and jet skiing. In the winter we love to skate and go tobogganing. Family and friends are most important to me and we have a wonderful network of friends. I also love to volunteer at my children's school and help with all class excursions. I also love to bake and am on the baking committee chair for my daughter's pre-school as well as the vice-president. I am also on the parent committee for my oldest daughter.
