My fitness philosophy is pretty simple. Find something you like to do and do it with love. Fitness and exercise doesn’t have to be work. The trick is to find something you like to do, something that is fun. If you are having fun and enjoying yourself, you will keep doing it and see results. The hard part is getting started. Once fitness becomes a part of your life, you’ll never go back. Every day you move your body, it’s like putting money in the bank. Your fitness level just keeps growing. It’s all about being fit and healthy enough to do the things you enjoy doing. It’s about the quality of your life.
As a personal trainer, I train many different types of clients, but my favourite are women. Why? Because I am one and I understand the challenges we all face with work, family and finding time for ourselves. Every day I meet incredible women who work so hard to excel at work and raise families, leaving very little energy and time for themselves. Taking the time and spending the energy to get fit and healthy will benefit you in every aspect of your life.
I have always been active but it was in the last 10 years that I started taking fitness seriously. After I had my second child I joined a gym and hired a trainer. I embarked on a journey that took me places I never expected. I saw incredible changes in my body. I became stronger, faster, healthier, and more confident than ever before. I began to believe in my abilities and my initial goal of weight loss, grew into other more intimidating ones. Running marathons, competitive kickboxing, and now body building. With every new goal that I set for myself and ultimately surpass, I feel more and more like the real me has surfaced and I feel I can accomplish anything I set my mind too. I continue to work on my health, ensuring that I eat well, move my body every day, get enough sleep, and manage my stress levels. It all goes hand in hand in becoming the fittest and healthiest I can be.
I got into the fitness industry as a personal trainer several years ago and am so passionate about helping people reach their goals. I take a very holistic approach to fitness understanding that life can be very hectic and busy and a fitness plan has to be realistic to work. I love seeing the look on the faces I train when they reach a goal, be that a number on the scale, or the extra weight they can lift, or the healthy choices they made during a weekend.
When I’m not being super mom, I’m a personal trainer. I have two incredible kids that I adore spending time with and learning from. They keep me hopping. I train as often as I can (usually 4 to 5 days a week.) I love weight training at the gym, kickboxing, cycling, swimming, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, and rollerblading. I love traveling, meeting new people, spending time with friends, writing, music, and being outdoors.
I am a certified Personal Trainer, a certified Jump Rope Instructor, Kickboxing for Fitness Instructor, BOSU certified trainer, and a Holistic Lifestyle Coach (Chek Institute).
