Hey Ladies,
In early 2007 I graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree specializing in High Performance Sport Training and Sports Injury Rehabilitation. During this time I became certified in sports injury prevention and care and my Rebook Spin Instructors Certification. Upon completion of my degree I became a certified Kinesiologist. After my undergraduate degree I attended the University Of Ottawa in the Masters of Arts program in Intervention and Consultation and Sport, Health and Physical Activity Counseling program and graduated in 2008. During this degree I became a certified Personal Training Specialist and a Sports tapping and Wrapping specialist.
When I was a young age of 17 in the midst of training for the National Karate team and I played a game of rep soccer which would put me out of sports for 8 months following a solid knee injury. It was a slow progress of rehabilitation but I was able to begin competing again within 18 months of this injury - a huge accomplishment for someone who couldn't walk for a full month! I have trained many clients who have seen and felt the differences in training under my motivated regime. Each of my clients losing between 4 to 21 inches in size!
I feel that each woman should feel that they can train hard, and have fun at the same time. I feel that with my personal background in sport many women feel that working out or training in sports is a very strict regime which may turn them away from training - I am here to put a stop to this idea. Women are the best clients to train because they are motivated, they use a support system and they will ask for help if they need it.
I believe in Healthy Active Living. Eat well, train well, live well. If you are missing one aspect of a healthy living model (fitness aspect, mental wellness aspect or diet) everything can fall apart. I believe that each person can handle each aspect of this pyramid with help from those around them. Everyone should be having fun while working out!
Booty Camp is a great way to give women a support system and a system to achieve individual goals all at once. What better way to be involved in the community than through helping that community feel healthier?
Currently, I train in karate, in yoga and play competitive soccer for a local soccer team in Ottawa. I also am an avid runner, where each week I periodically run about 25 km, and am a playful climber
For fun I am always outside exploring the area, taking my bike out of its dusty storage and seeing where it takes me. I also am a fitness coordinator and personal trainer at a private gym. My fun life is centered around my family and friends so if you happen to see me on a weekend you'll usually find me surrounded by them!
