Hey Ladies,
I'm Carolyn and I am a part of Booty Camp because it's different! Usually the sessions I teach are a "drop-in" style, and while I have a lot of "regulars" I'm really looking forward to having the same group of women working together, working hard and having a blast for an entire session. I think exercising outdoors adds a really fun dynamic that most fitness programs miss out on.
My passion for women's fitness began when I was a lifeguard and ran the "ladies only" swims, from there I began teaching and working at a "women’s only" fitness club in Ottawa. There is an immediate difference in the comfort level of participants, enthusiasm and sense of belonging. I truly feel it's a necessary option to have in fitness and I'm so excited to be a part of Booty Camp to motivate, support and inspire some awesome ladies!
My personal philosophy on fitness is that if you're going to work out with me, you're going to sweat! There's nothing that I find more rewarding than challenging my participants to push past their comfort zones and see them rise to the challenge, and we'll have fun doing it!
I have been involved in fitness from playing varsity sports in high school to personal training and group fitness for over 15 years. After teaching group fitness for eight years I can still remember the first time I taught a class. It was Cardio Kickbox, and after an hour of punching, kicking, sweating and having fun, I was hooked – and more importantly, so were my participants.
One highlight of my fitness career has been being asked to be a presenter at the YMCA fitness conference in Ottawa. My session quickly sold out and I taught a Cardio Kickbox session to over 100 energetic and enthusiastic fitness instructors!
I am a graduate from Carleton University in Sociology and Algonquin College in Public Relations – both in Ottawa. I am certified as a Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor through Can Fit Pro. I am also certified in Level II Boxing with Libby Norris.
My athletic hobbies are trying out different fitness classes in town – always open to learning new things! I play soccer and I'm learning to enjoy golf – I'm getting better...
Outside of fitness I am a Senior Consultant at a Public Relations firm which keeps me busy. Living in Ottawa, I like to take advantage of all that we have in our city, great festivals, restaurants, shows and outdoor activities. I also have two big dogs that love to run and swim and I love travelling and hanging out with great friends and family.
I'm much more than just an 'employee'. I own the The Glebe Boot Camp Licensed Location (similar to a franchise). As the owner of my "Licensed Location" I share in the responsibility of creating a valuable experience for you and all my recruits, and am 100% compensated via profit sharing.
