About Mary-Ann Mckinley

Hey Ladies,

My name is Mary-Ann and I am extremely excited about joining the Booty Camp Fitness Team!

I obtained my Bachelor of Physical Education (Kinesiology) from McMaster University. I also have my Bachelor of Education from Queen's University. I have certificates in the Fitness Ontario Leadership Program, YMCA Fitness Instructor and YMCA Strength and Conditioning Training. I am presently working on my Can-Fit-Pro Certification.

It's About Achieving

My biggest fitness story was when I qualified for the Boston Marathon. I ran my first marathon in Buffalo New York and that's where I qualified for Boston. The Boston Marathon is a very prestigious marathon to run because it is the only Marathon is which you have to have a qualifying time from a prior marathon. I was a member of Track Niagara and I would always run with the runners that were better than me so I would become a better runner. Some people run to finish a marathon, I ran to get a good time. I always strive to be the best I can be in everything that I do. I believe that if you want results you have to work hard to get the results you set out for yourself. It is not always about winning but it is about achieving and pushing yourself beyond what you thought was possible for your abilities. I also realize that when you exercise it is not just the physical aspect but mental as well. Being able to push your physical body beyond means that you mentally thought were impossible. I believe that the Booty Camp Fitness is an amazing program for women. Many women don't feel comfortable going to a gym because they get intimidated. Many may not feel comfortable about their body image especially in front of the opposite sex. Offering a women's only Booty Camp allows women to work at their own pace, feel comfortable around other women, and feel at ease in an inviting environment.

Fitness is a Way of Life

My personal philosophy on fitness is that it is "A WAY OF LIFE". Exercising and Nutrition go hand in hand. There are so many benefits of exercising. It is a way to reduce stress, increase the efficiency of your cardiovascular system which helps keep your heart and lungs healthy, it also reduces your risk factors of getting cardiovascular diseases. It also affects your muscular and skeletal systems in that it helps prevent osteoporosis and makes your bones and muscles strong. When you exercise your body produces a natural substance called endorphins and when they are released in your body they give you an awesome feeling which in turn gives you lots of energy. Nutrition is also very important. I tell everyone that when you put good gas in your car it runs very well. If you were to put gas that was mixed with water then your car would not run. Well your body is the same way, it is like a machine. If you put good, healthy food into your body then it will be very efficient and you will have optimum performance.

I love to help people become the best they can become. I really love to motivate people and assist them with their fitness goals. I have tons of energy and believe that I can help make a difference for a lot of women. My Fitness Philosophy is "YES YOU CAN"!!! I do believe the saying of "NO PAIN NO GAIN"!! Getting in shape or losing weight does take work, lots of effort and tons of motivation. Always remembering to work at your own pace and listen to your body. I have those qualities to motivate and encourage others to feel great about themselves and to make the changes in themselves that they so desire.

About Me...

My hobbies include: Booty Camp Fitness (of course), running, cycling, rollerblading, tennis, baseball, volleyball and golf (after all my degree is in Physical Education).

For my career I am a High School Teacher. I have taught Physical Education, Geography, Biology and the Co-operative Education Program. I love to motivate my students to become the best they can become. I also like to spend time with my niece and four nephews, family and friends. I also love listening to music, love to dance and would like to get my motorcycle license because I love the freedom of riding a motorcycle.

I'm much more than just an 'employee'. I own the Niagara Falls Boot Camp Licensed Location (similar to a franchise). As the owner of my "Licensed Location" I share in the responsibility of creating a valuable experience for you and all my recruits, and am 100% compensated via profit sharing.
