My Booty Camp journey began 3 years ago when I was hoping to lose 5 lbs before my wedding day. I already had a gym membership, played ultimate Frisbee, soccer and volleyball but had reached a plateau and was looking for a harder challenge to push me to lose the “last 5 lbs”. Working in a desk job I was very discouraged that maybe it wasn’t meant to be and I wouldn’t be able to lose the extra weight. Was I in for a surprise! Thanks to a motivated and dedicated instructor and let’s not forget lots of sweat and determination on my side, I was able to overachieve on my weight loss goals, gain strength, increase energy levels and have lots of fun while doing it, I was hooked!
My passion for women’s fitness is the desire to help women realize their fitness potential. To have women know that by participating in exercise they are investing in themselves, and doing something good for themselves,; whether it is to lose that last 10lbs, to become stronger, feel healthier or to help that mom increase her cardiovascular ability so that she can play sports with her kids.
Fitness is something I believe everyone needs to incorporate into their day to day living whatever that may be. Whether it is taking a walk at night after dinner, walking a few flights of stairs at work rather than taking the elevator, or parking further away in a parking lot, making these small changes will improve your fitness level and improve your day to day living. To me, improving your everyday living is vital to maintaining good overall health.
I am so thrilled about being a Booty Camp Fitness Drill Instructor because it is so much fun to help other women achieve their goals. The Booty camp exercises are fantastic because they are targeted for women and extremely efficient. I absolutely love the group environment especially when we are outside. Who doesn’t want to workout in fresh air outdoors? Being outside makes the class so much fun and creates a relaxed and social atmosphere.
Throughout my childhood I was very athletic, playing any and every sport, soccer, swimming, volleyball. Being active and having a healthy lifestyle has always been a priority for me since I was young. Soccer, volleyball, swimming, golfing and hiking are sports I enjoy.
I work full-time in hi-tech sales, so incorporating a healthy lifestyle is very important for creating balance. Besides exercise, I love to cook and trying out new restaurants with my husband. We also love to travel when we can, it’s amazing to visit new cities and experience different cultures. If we aren’t travelling you can find me on the weekends reading a book or puttering around the garden in the summer trying to get a green thumb!
