As a certified Can-Fit-Pro Personal Trainer with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences, I am looking forward to inspiring each of you to reach your full potential! To me, the most important thing in finding a job is finding one which motivates me. Simply put – I am motivated by people. I have a passion or helping people achieve their goals. I want you to come into Booty Camp pushing yourself a little harder (with my help of course!) and leave smiling a little bigger and feeling better than you did before you started.
I was never the superstar athlete in grade school – until one of my teachers saw a strength in me I never knew I had. Ever since, I became a 400m sprinter and fitness has been a major part of my life. I am still not a superstar athlete nor am I doing one-handed push-ups – BUT I have such a passion for fitness and I know its importance in a healthy lifestyle as well as the joy and happiness it can bring you. If friends, students and family aren’t constantly asking me how they can tone their arms, how they should eat, how to get rid of their tummy …. then I am there regardless trying to spread my passion!
I am currently working with a fitness class of 24 women and the most rewarding moments for them and myself are those ‘Ah Ha’ moments when they have reached a personal fitness goal of their own. My heart is warmed by such moments. There is nothing better than seeing a woman feel confident and walk proud.
Women are busy. And often times women put so many other things first before themselves. Take the first step … come to Booty Camp. And from there together we will all push through each minute and I will motivate you to do so each week. As a group we will have fun and reach your fitness goals. And trust me – you will become addicted :)
My personal philosophy on fitness is one simple approach: The Vitality Approach. This approach takes away the number on the scale and places the focus on having a balanced healthy life. Eat Healthy. Being Active. Feeling Good About Your Body. If you are successful in those three areas…. Does the number on the scale even really matter? The goal is for you to feel good about your body and the woman you are!
One of the ways I like to achieve this is again, one simple word: Variety. Eat a variety of foods (all in moderation of course!) and add variety into your workouts! I will ensure each Booty Camp session is different. If you do the same workout every day, your body will know what to expect and do as little as it has to (The body is smart!!!). Changing your routine and adding variety forces your body to adapt to new stimuli – forcing it to work harder!
I was once a Booty Camp Recruit myself. I fell in love with Booty Camp on the very first day. The camaraderie between all the women is incredible, the sessions were fun, the instructor was such a great motivator and best of all – I left each session feeling stronger and very happy! I knew immediately Booty Camp Fitness was something I wanted to become a part of! I cannot wait to motivate you to become activity and more importantly feel STRONG and CONFIDENT women.
I am big on trying new things! The most important aspect of fitness to me is finding something that is FUN! I hope you will find that in Booty Camp – I certainly did when I was a recruit.
Outside of Booty Camp I love to rollerblade, snowboard, weight train and go for long cycling rides out in the country roads. I ran Varsity Track in University but have since stopped running. I was a sprinter and so for me to go on a long run I find boring; and like I said – it has got to be fun! My future fitness goals are to learn how to play lacrosse!
I LOVE teaching! When I am not working out with you at Booty Camp I am busy instructing swimming lessons and am a High School Phys.Ed / Biology Teacher – supplying now until I find the perfect position!
I have also caught a case of the travel bug. I love traveling – especially to countries very different from our own. I try to go somewhere new once a year.
