About Katie Dillabough

Hey Ladies!

Hey Ladies! I’m Katie and I’m super excited to be a part of the Booty Camp Team! I have a deep passion for fitness and love spreading the fitness bug! I truly enjoy meeting new people and helping them set and reach their goals! My goal is to create a CRAZY AWESOME, SUPER FUN, motivating atmosphere for you to achieve your fitness goals.

I began my fitness career as a Personal Trainer at a local gym, where I quickly realized I didn’t know as much as I thought I did about fitness. That was a hard thing to admit to myself! I wanted to be better able to serve my clients and that motivated me to go back to school to expand my toolbox. I attended Mohawk College for the Health, Wellness and Fitness program. It gave me the knowledge and confidence I felt I had been missing before and further engrained that I have chosen the right career path for me.

Fit For Life

The motto I live by is “Don’t wish it was easier, make yourself better!” If it were easy everyone would do it, right? Congratulations to YOU for choosing change! Health & fitness is about a lifestyle change and choosing to live a healthier, happier, longer life! It might not be easy, but I can promise you Booty Camp is loads of fun!!! I love Booty Camp as it promotes a positive lifestyle change in a fun, encouraging and motivating atmosphere. Something special happens when you get a group of women excited about fitness in a room, the air is filled with a “can do” attitude!

My training style revolves around functional training. This means training the body in movements that will help in making your everyday movements easier. Most athletes train this way to be better at their chosen sport, so why can’t you train this way to be better at life??? The focus is on bodyweight movements or light resistance and manipulating your body, instead of weight, to increase the level of difficulty.

Why Booty Camp?

I must admit, my reasons for instructing Booty Camp are slightly selfish. I love seeing people get excited about fitness while they set and attain their goals! It’s awesome knowing that I helped play a small part in changing someone’s life. It’s great getting to know all the recruits and learning of past and current struggles and sharing in the celebrations of achievements.

My Journey

Growing up I was always very thin. I abused this by having absolutely horrible eating habits, which didn’t have a physical effect because I exercised every day. When I went to college exercise was put on the back burner, but the eating habits got even worse. When I was 22 I started dating a bodybuilder and for some reason thought it would be impressive to eat the same amount as a 240lb man. I gained 50 pounds in what seemed to be overnight. The breaking point was when I was getting ready to go out with some friends one night and NOTHING fit!! I was spilling out everywhere and it brought me to tears. I knew I had to change my lifestyle. I cleaned up my diet and started exercising regularly and dropped the 50lbs I had gained! Not only did I lose the weight, but my self-esteem improved, I had TONS more energy, was sleeping better, friends and family enjoyed being around me more because I was happier and I truly found my passion in fitness.

Outside of Booty Camp...

I’m always up for trying something new and crazy! I am an avid indoor and outdoor rock climber. I try to climb 3-4 days a week. Climbing is not only a physical activity, but an extremely mentally challenging one as well. I also slackline (sort of like tightrope walking) One of the craziest things I’ve done is highlining, which is slacklining…but 60+ feet in the air!!! I also love hiking, biking and rollerblading. When I’m not involved in something active I like to read and enjoy the occasional movie.
