My name is Jess and I'm beyond excited to be your Booty Camp Fitness Instructor!
I joined Booty Camp Fitness as a recruit myself and fell in love with the program! I loved it so much that I began to video log my whole 8 week journey on YouTube. Most importantly, Booty Camp made me realize that I belonged in fitness. So much so that I am now a Can-Fit Personal Trainer Specialist, a certified Indoor Cycling Instructor and CPR certified.
Was I always into fitness? Not at all! Growing up, I was always the chubby girl that would WALK the one mile run they get you to do in high school, remember that run? I hated it with every part of my being! I always had an extra 15 pounds on my short frame. A brutal reality check hit me when I graduated from University of Toronto in 2008 with an extra 35 pound 'padding'. I knew I had to change my lifestyle: I needed to change my eating habits and increase my fitness level. This, in all honestly would not be much since my fitness level was non-existent.
I started slowly losing weight by concentrating on healthy foods and decided to start attending Spinning classes and I fell in love. I fell in love with the way exercising made me feel. I was energized and felt empowered! After falling in love with spinning, I found myself falling in love with weight training, Pilates, yoga, running and, well I think you get the idea!
After one year of participating in Spinning classes, and with 34 pounds lost, an instructor approached me to become an instructor myself! I was pleasantly surprised and decided to go for it!
After obtaining this certification and finding Booty Camp Fitness, I knew I had to pursue fitness full time. Here I am today, with two fitness certifications under my belt, I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been! I am currently training to run my first half marathon and loving every second of it.
I want to make each and everyone of you realize your potential, just like my instructor did for me. Your body can do SO much! It's all about starting slow and progressing each and every week. You'll be surprised to see how much stronger you will become after a few weeks and I cannot wait to witness it! Watching others progress week after week is one of the most rewarding experiences and I am blessed to be able to take part in it. My Fitness Philosophy is to never make it an OPTION to skip a workout, remember that you’ll always regret the one you missed but NEVER the one you did. So what are you waiting for?
I work as the full time Client Experience Specialist at Booty Camp Fitness head office.
My hobbies include working out, trying new activities, food blogging, video logging on YouTube, leading others to their weight loss goals, cooking and creating new recipes, going to the movies with my friends or trying out a new restaurant!
