About Ali Lavallee

Hey Ladies,

I will tell you one thing, when I am done with you, you will have one sexy booty! Allow me to introduce myself my name is Ali Lavallee and have been involved in the sports and fitness industry for 7 years. When I first came across booty camp, I knew instantly it was for me as it was all about the booty.

I have received two degrees from the University of Alberta; Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education. I am also a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) - Certified Personal Trainer and in the process of completing my CSEP- Certified Exercise Physiologist. I am also a registered Lifesaving Instructor under the Canadian Lifesaving society, as well as CPR Instructor, and AED Instructor. From 2004-2008 I volunteered my time as the athletic therapist for the Edmonton Eskimo Cheer Team as well in 2006 for the CIS Men’s National Winning Soccer Team at the University of Alberta.

Stay Determined!

I have always been very active from a young age. I played soccer, started golfing at age 9, competed in swimming, did gymnastics, ballet, jazz, pointe, and Ukrainian dancing for many years. I really got into fitness and training when I was 16 because I had a few unfortunate sports related accidents, which resulted in me tearing both ACL’s (anterior cruciate ligament in knee). These injuries occurred first while playing soccer and the second time cheerleading 6 months post reconstructive surgery from the first. The injuries were really hard to take for me because I identified myself as an athlete, and then all of a sudden my identity was taken away.

I was very determined to maintain a high level of fitness and get back into cheerleading. In my first year of college I joined the Grant MacEwan Cheer Team and started physiotherapy for my knees. Through physio, I became extremely interested in the functioning of human movement, anatomy, and physiology and I wanted to become a physiotherapist. I would train 3 hours a day both rehabbing my knees and to increase strength and flexibility. My goal from a young age was to be on the Edmonton Eskimo Cheer Team as a stunter, also known as a flyer. My hard work and dedication paid off and for 5 years I was a member of the Edmonton Eskimo Cheer Team. I have had so many opportunities to travel through the States and Canada while on the team performing and competing in front of thousands of people and globally on TV. I have performed for the opening and closing ceremonies for the World Master Games, for 5 Grey Cups, as well as volunteered my time for a number of causes and foundations happening throughout the city. My goal of becoming a physiotherapist is still on my mind however I am very happy that my interest in fitness/career has turned more towards exercise physiology.

Prevention is Key

My passion for woman’s fitness is simple. I want to motivate others to start moving. I want women to add a fitness routine into their schedule and make it a habit. Women are able to multitask, are natural caregivers and I understand that mothers especially will put their family’s needs before theirs. But there are so many benefits to being active such as boosting your self esteem and decreasing stress. There are also growing health concerns from aging and sedentary lifestyles. Countless numbers of journal articles and research prove increasing your level of fitness will decrease the chance of obesity, type two diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and the list goes on! Prevention is key, so why not have fun while you’re at it.

We’re Meant to Move

My personal philosophy is two tiered. My background for my philosophy came from experience with both functional movement (rehab) as well as sports performance. Everyone is at different levels of fitness however it’s a matter of determining your goal which will determine the progression. For some, it’s a matter of being able lift up your child without back pain while others it’s being able to push your abilities to meet high standards of your sport. Our bodies were designed to move, not sit for hours in front of a TV. Make physical activity and fitness a part of your daily living. Spend time playing baseball with your kids in the backyard, or go for a walk or a bike ride in your community with friends and family. Being active can make you happier and live longer. Lastly, have a variety of activities. Try something new like wall climbing, yoga or camping and share the experience with others.

I wanted to become a Booty Camp instructor because I want to share my experience and knowledge with others. I am a natural educator and I would like to share information that I have gained from school and practical experience.

Outside of Booty Camp

Although I have hung up my pom poms with the Eskimo Cheer Team I am still cheerleading on an all-star team in Edmonton. During the summer months I spend my time golfing, wakeboarding, hiking, kayaking, and surfing, and in the winter I snowboard. I’ve been a 5 star PADI scuba diver since the age of 15 and I practice Ashtanga yoga.

During the day I am a Military Fitness Instructor teaching group fitness classes and one on-one-personal training. I also volunteer my time in the evenings as the Exercise Specialist for the Edmonton Eskimo Cheer Team and teach fitness classes at Perfect Storm Athletics. I am also a Certified Wedding Planner and Freelance Make-up artist doing bridal make-up applications. Even though my schedule looks busy I always make time for my friends and family. In the next few years I would like to do more travelling and start teaching in the school systems.
