Hey Ladies,
My name is Michelle Watson and I am very happy and excited to be your Booty Camp instructor for the Brantford location!
I took my first Booty Camp in the summer of 2009 and fell in love with it right away. My instructor was so amazing and inspiring that I knew from the first class that I wanted to be a Booty Camp Instructor!
I graduated with honours from Mohawk College with a Diploma in Office Administration – Medical in 2001. I am currently working part time on a degree in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo. I received my Fitness Instructor Specialist and CPR certification through Can-Fit-Pro.
Growing up I participated in dance classes and figure skating. During my teenage years, I joined a gym and participated in all different types of fitness classes – I rarely missed a day at the gym. College was a difficult time for me because I had a hard time juggling my classes, studying, working part time and fitting in fitness. I ended up gaining about 40lbs and after I graduated I gained about another 10lbs. In the next couple of years, I was adjusting to married life and shift work; I would come up with every excuse in the book as to why I couldn’t fit fitness into my life. Well, I gained about 60lbs in 5 years…no more excuses! A friend and I joined Weight Watchers at work and deiced to get serious about our health. I started going to the gym daily and increased my routines on a weekly basis. I was participating in fitness classes again and my weight literally fell off and my self confidence soared. I chose to make fitness a part of my life again. I know what it is like to miss out on going to the beach with friends because you don’t want to be seen in a bathing suit and I want to help other women who feel that same way.
I struggle with fitting in fitness into a busy schedule but I have learned that you must make it a priority. I truly believe that life is about choices and consequences. I know that if I sit on the couch and watch TV all night instead of getting in a good workout, I will gain weight. I know that if I chose junk food over a healthy snack, I will gain weight and feel sluggish. I feel that you have to make the decision that this is your life (it is not a dress rehearsal) and you are going to make it the best life you can by being healthy and taking care of yourself.
I am passionate about women’s fitness because I feel most women put others before themselves and putting themselves last. Women play so many different roles in life and need to make time for themselves. I have always admired strong, independent women and I know that Booty Camp will help enhance women’s strength inside and out.
I go to the gym on a regular basis, I run 5k outdoors (not in the winter), I love mountain biking and taking my two Siberian Huskies for long walks.
I work full time at the Brantford General Hospital and I have a second job part time for a doctor. As soon as the spring comes, I am usually up North camping, hiking and basically doing anything outside. I am really close to my family, so I really look forward to family functions where we can all catch up on our busy lives. My husband Mark is my best friend and I enjoy spending time with him because we laugh and have a good time no matter where we are or what we are doing.
